Living One Day At A Time

Why is it so hard to just live in the moment?!
Cliché? Yes. True? 1000%.

I like to know when I am doing what, I like to write down to-do lists and I am a planner in many respects. I plan ahead and I like having a schedule in my life. However, at the same time, I am constantly trying to find a balance between setting plans in place and still living and enjoying the moment I am in.

I know I am not the only one struggling with this and here’s an example. You get super excited planning this amazing trip that is coming up in two months and all of sudden that is all you can think about. Screw the two months in between, your whole life is just focused around that trip (which will only last for like a week, anyway) and in the meantime you completely forget to actualy live. Isn’t that so sad? We only get to live once and it is such a shame that we always tend think ahead of ourselves, instead of just simply being in the moment.

I found a quote online that read: People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer, all life for happiness! How freaking true and at the same time, how sad. I refuse to be one of those people and you should too. For example, summer is 100% my favourite season and I wish it could be summer all year long! That doesn’t mean I am going to put my life on pause until summer comes back around. And yes, Fridays are the best! But again, is it really worth starting off your week by counting down the days until the weekend?! Enjoy every day for what it is. Live your life instead of just counting down the days because really… it is your life you are counting down.

From this moment on, STOP counting, stop thinking, stop stressing and just start living. That’s what I am about to do anyway! I am making a choice to start living in the present. I am no longer wait for Monday to start working out. I am no longer waiting for the weekend to meet up with friends. I am no longer WAITING for anything.
I am living my life one day at a time!
