1. Lace-up Greek sandals
I got my hands on a pair of brown leather lace-up Greek sandals almost 5 years ago and I can easily say they are my most worn pair of summer shoes. I feel like these sandals just have it all: they are comfortable, they are so simple that they just go with everythinggg and they are stylish at the same time. If you live in either Greece or Cyprus you can easily get your hands on a pair of fab Greek sandals. You can also find great options online, they might be a little more pricey but you can still get a pair no matter where you are in the world. Like I’ve mentioned I have had mine for about five years now, I pretty much live in them during the summer and they are still in an amazing condition. My point being, even if they might be slightly pricey, they are so worth the money because they are going to last! And I mean LAST…
You can also find some amazing embellished pairs with pom poms and ribbons and little coins hanging off of them. As amazing as those fancy sandals are if you don’t already own a basic pair I would strongly encourage that you first go out and buy a very simple pair of brown lace-up sandals. The embellished ones are more of a statement pair. They are fabulous, however, you will not get as much wear out of them as you would from a very basic pair. If you know that your style is really colorful then maybe go straight for the embellished ones. If your style is very plain and simple, you will absolutely love the basic Greek sandals. They will make your life so much easier because they will just go with everything and they will also add a fun summer vibe to your looks.

2. Seagrass flip-flops
My mum is the type of person that believes flip-flops belong to the beach or the pool and that’s it. Me on the other hand… I believe that flip-flops can be worn anywhere and anytime during the summer. From a morning at the beach to an afternoon coffee or a night walk in the town, I absolutely love wearing my flip-flops. Keep in mind I live on an island; I think that’s why flip-flops can be worn pretty much anywhere. I don’t think I would wear them as much if I was to spend my summer in London for example. Nevertheless, I love flip-flops for the summer time and my absolute favorite kind are the seagrass ones! Seagrass flip-flops give me majorrr #islandlife summer vibes. I find them to be the most fun and stylish kind.
Now, flip-flops might not last for a very long time (especially if you wear them as much as I do) but they are so affordable that you can just buy a pair at the beginning of the summer season and you would be good to go for the entire summer. The last pair I bought was from Accessorize (which btw has some of the best and most affordable seagrass flip-flops on the market) and they are a metallic goldish colour which makes them look a little fancier than ordinary flip-flops. I bought them towards the end of the summer of last year so I am sure they are going to last me until the end of this summer as well. I love them so much that I avoid wearing them at the beach so I don’t ruin them (yes weird I know HAHA). The pair of seagrass flip-flops I had before them, were from Attrattivo and I actually had them for a good few years, so that’s another place where you can get a good quality pair.

3. Low chunky heel sandals
I cannot begin to explain how much I have worn these shoes over the past few summers (and how much I will continue to). Most important of all, these shoes have a heel yet are as comfortable as flats! They give you hight and help add a more ‘formal’ touch to your outfit. They can make a really casual look appear more dressed up, they are perfect for a date night and while you can wear them for a casual meet up with your friends they can also complete your night-out outfit. They are so ‘in’ right now and they are the style of shoe I would describe as a true summer “must-have”. They come in soooo many different colours, prints, and styles. You are guaranteed to find your perfect pair.
My two favourite low chunky heeled sandals are a pair from Mango and another one from River Island. The ones from Mango are plane strappy heels, in black suede with a thick strap across the toes. So simple and elegant, they are a truly classic pair of heeled summer sandals. My other pair from River Island is more of a trend shoe. They are faux snake leather and they lace up, up to knee hight, but I just choose to wrap them just a bit higher than my ankles. They are also just a tiny bit higher than my black ones and they are definitely more of a ‘night out’ type of shoe. I love them so much and they are such a fun pair of shoes to complete a fabulous summer outfit.

These are the three styles of shoes that I pretty much live in during the summer time. They are all so stylish, fun and of course comfortable! I find myself always reaching for them and they truly are some of my best purchases. With all these choices that we have today both in stores and online, you can get your hands on some amazing shoes without breaking the bank. But even if you do have to pay a little more for either the Greek sandals or the chunky heels, I would 100% say just go for it, because these shoes truly will be an investment for your summer closet. No, they are not exactly ‘classics’ but you are going to get so much wear out of them!!! 😉
