How To Style Kitten Heels For Spring & Summer

If you were to tell me like seven years ago, that today I would be recommending to people to embrace the kitten heel trend, I would tell you, you’re crazy! Yet, today I admit that I absolutely love these shoes and I am a huge fan. To spread the love, I decided to write this post, show you guys how I style the kitten heel and also share some of my favourite finds. I find kitten heel shoes so elegant and stylish and perfect for almost any occasion. I also believe, they are one of the best types of shoes to wear when you are dying to wear heels but you can’t for whatever reason (because you are either too tired, might have blisters from other shoes, might have knee or back issues… and the list could go on forever haha). These shoes still have the ‘heel’ element but without being tiring or uncomfortable. This way, they spark that inner confidence of wearing heels, without making you feel like you are being stabbed, with every step you take. (However, I vow to keep wearing my killer heels even if it means, that I get stabbed with every step I take, because some shoes are just worth the pain😂😅)

#1 Casual look:

Starting from the very basics, a great way to wear kitten heels is with a very simple, casual outfit. Throw on your favourite pair of jeans, a casual graphic tee and a bright coloured pair of kitten heels and you are ready to go! Swapping out your white tennies or favourite converse, with a pair of kitten heel shoes, will give your whole outfit a completely different feeling. While still being dressed down, your outfit will look 10 times more chic and it will just make your whole look a bit more fun and interesting. Plus, they are so comfortable so you do not have to think twice about wearing them. You can also pair them with a denim skirt or a flowy lightweight dress… how cute would that be. You stay comfortable while making your casual outfit look much cuter.

#2 Something in between:
This look is how I would describe my outfit and how I wore the kitten heels in these pictures. Not too dressy but not casual either. For those, in between occasions, when you want to look cute and you want to put effort into your outfit while staying on the more ‘casual’ side, these shoes are a great choice. I paired a dusty pink tulle skirt, with a basic yet fun white top with balloon-ish sleeves and I wore my black lace-up kitten heels. To tie the look together I added a dusty pink jacket and a khaki vintage bag. To add to the almost “classic” vibe of the outfit, I wore oversized pearl earrings and a pearl necklace and of course a pair of vintage cat eye sunglasses.

#3 ‘Formal’ look:
With so many luxury designers, like Dior, Channel, Valentino and many more, embracing the kitten heel trend, these shoes have been given a new ‘style’. Even though they are totally not “killer heels” they still manage to look so elegant and can complete a very formal, dressed up, outfit. For a special occasion, these shoes can be paired with a beautiful tulle dress at ballerina length for a very classy, feminine look, or a maxi slip dress for a more bold and sexy look. For a more professional occasion, you can pair this shoes with a nicely fitting killer suit and create a bad-ass boss look. Using the same skirt I am wearing in the pictures, and swapping out my top and my accessories can create a completely different look, appropriate for a much more formal occasion. Pair that skirt with a black silk camisole or a beautifully textured button-up shirt, with ruffles or lace, and a chic clutch and you are ready to go for a classy night out with a beautifully dressed up outfit.

As I have already mentioned, I find this style of shoes, to be appropriate for almost any occasion and any time of the day, which means there are a million and one ways to wear the kitten heel. There are so many different choices out there, from styles to colours and price tags, so it is almost guaranteed you will be able to find something that fits your needs! Check out below some of my favourites for inspiration and you might find something you love. 😊
